Rebound Foundation, Adventures in Change - Denver, Colorado
Adventures in Change offers residential treatment and education to youth that have been
previously incarcerated or removed from the home and require services surrounding individual
and family counseling, management of delinquent behavior, education, and treatment for drug and
alcohol abuse. This facility offered a wilderness trip requirement as a component of their
experiential learning philosophy.
Residential Supervisor/Coordinator February 1994 – April 1995
Responsible for daily supervision of 8 counselors in a 16 bed residential drug and alcohol
treatment facility. Supervision included monitoring compliance with one on one, group, and
family counseling sessions. Additionally responsible for supervising drug and alcohol
treatment, as well as, the educational and vocational aspects of the program. Performed client
intakes and discharges with Department of Human Services and the Department of Youth
Corrections. Daily duties included management of the entire program’s budget and
expenditures for operation of the facility, operation and management of the facility, the on-site
school and all programs elements including hiring and dismissal of all facility staff.
Residential Counselor December 1992 – February 1994
Responsibilities included daily supervision of clients, behavior management, community out-
reach, community integration of clients, one-on-one counseling, group counseling, drug and
alcohol groups, and daily documentation of client progress. Additionally responsible for
maintaining and monitoring up keep of facility, management of food bank and nutritional
needs of the facility, maintaining the program standards for state licensing and assembling and
organizing many of the front end needs preceding an experiential education wilderness trip.
