Management seems like a simple job - you tell people what to do, they do it, rinse, repeat. For bad managers, it really is this simple.
Good managers do things differently. They let team members affect, if not drive, the team's direction. They allow the best ideas to guide the team's activity, no matter who brings them up. They are not intimidated by non-managers displaying leadership qualities, they encourage them.
While these sentiments aren't unique to open source, they are the core of open source communities - allowing individuals to exert influence without any official authority. That's why I think working in open source is the best way to learn how to be a good manager, and I'll try to share this concept in my talk.

We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

2. When it comes to choosing amongst the chocolate,
caramel, and red velvet, it’s literally a tough
decision to make. But I know that when I am sad,
chocolate works right for me, or when I am
confused, caramel brings me some clarity, and red
velvet is when I am sharing it with no one!Well, that
doesn’t make either one of these better than
others.
It is only about what works when, for me. In the
same way, there is no right answer to “Which is the
best JavaScript framework amongst- React, Angular
and Vue?”To answer all the commons questions
that I come across on Google, like, “Is Vue faster
than react?” Angular vs. React vs. Vue:
Which framework to choose in 2020? or Angular
vs. React vs. Vue: What is the best front-end
JavaScript framework?Well, in either of the cases, I
am going to lay a clear picture in front of you.As
such, there is not any good, better, or the best
front-end framework.
4. Here are the 6 things to consider
before choosing a front-end
Javascript framework:
Popularity
Performance
Community Support
Library/Framework Size
Learning Curve
Flexibility
In this blog, I have depicted, compared, and
described each of these aspects for React,
Angular, and Vue. I hope after reading this
comprehensive visual comparison on Angular
Vs. Vue Vs. React, you will be able to choose the
right framework for you.Primarily, let’s begin
with an introduction to these front-end
frameworks.
5. React: It is a javascript library for building UI.
Facebook released React in 2013. It is a dynamic
library that supports creating interactive user
interfaces. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and
Whatsapp are the finest use-cases built using
React.Google developed Angular in 2010,
depending on the typescript javascript framework.
The Guardian, Weather.com, and Google Adwords
are great works of Angular.Vue: An ex-engineer of
Google, Evan You created progressive Javascript
framework in 2014. A young competitor to existing
frameworks, Vue all the hurdles and provides ease
of development. Some famous examples of
websites built on Vue are 9Gag, Alibaba, and
GitLab.
6. Popularity:
The UI frameworks and Javascript libraries work on
a rollback. Their rankings, demand, and positions
frequently change as new ones keep popping.
React, Angular, and Vue are the most popular for
the past few years
According to Google Trends, React is more popular,
next leads Angular, followed by Vue. Whereas, as
per the StackOverflow report, React attains the
same first position, but Vue immediately goes after
React, and Angular remains far behind..
7. Performance:
The Document Object Model (DOM) determines
the user interface of your application. Every
javascript framework uses the DOM differently to
set up the UI of a particular app.
This DOM is generally quite deep owing to the
nodes/elements attached to it, and it determines
an app’s performance.Frameworks like React, use
virtual DOM, which is an abstraction of the real
DOM.
The abstraction makes the DOM browser-
specific. Hence, React and Vue, working on the
virtual DOM, ensures faster app performance as
compared to Angular that uses the real DOM.
8. Community Support:
React was developed by Facebook to maintain and
support its ad campaigns and coding, and a team
of engineers is continually working on it, even
currently. React is used in several products of
Facebook, which shows a high investment of the
company on the framework.
This hit makes React very reliable in the developer
community.Angular was introduced in the market
by the leader- Google, using it mostly in Google
AdWords applications. This conduct makes Angular
authentic for the people to use and also provides
strong community support.Vue, on the other hand,
is not backed up by big names like Facebook or
Google. Also, it is comparatively new in the market.
9. Framework Size:
React (100 KB) is a proper fit for lightweight
applications. React is a library and not a
framework, so it does not provide much for
developers. Whereas, Angular (500 KB) is a
framework that provides a lot for the developers
starting from testing to templates and utilities.
This exploit makes Angular non-eligible for
lightweight, but suitable for heavyweight
applications.Vue (80 KB), being the smallest of the
three, is ideal for lightweight applications. In case
you need a smaller framework than Vue, Preact
would be the appropriate choice.
10. Learning Curve:
The learning curve is the ability of the
users/developers to write codes easily using a
programming language. Stateofjs stats show that
developers mostly prefer to learn and use React,
followed by Vue, and they are less interested in
learning Angular.
11. Flexibility:
React, being a javascript library, does not provide a
lot as Angular does. The angular framework
enables everything from templates to routing. And
this way, React is more flexible, allowing the users
to choose various programming tools of their
choice, and Angular is opinionated and not flexible
by providing everything in the Angular package.
In the case of flexibility, Vue finds a mid-way. It is
not very flexible, like React; neither is it firmly
opinionated like Angular. Vue is a bare javascript
framework like React, but it has an ecosystem on
its official website that offers a lot to its
developers.
12. Concluding Comparison:
Based on performance, popularity, learning curve,
flexibility, and community support.
React, and Vue offers better flexibility and
performance than Angular.
Lightweight applications should choose to React
or Vue, whereas Angular is best for large UI apps.
React and Vue is flexible as they allow to opt
programmer’s choice tools, whereas Angular
provides everything being opinionated.
The most popular and growing Javascript
framework is Vue.
I hope your purpose of landing on this blog post is
served, and you are able to choose the best
suitable JavaScript framework/library for your web
application. At Bacancy Technology, we have top-of-
the-line expertise in all the three JavaScript
frameworks and libraries.
Depending on your specific requirements, you
can hire dedicated front-end developer from us to
gain the most out of our JavaScript to achieve your
business goals.
