Rare animals are those that are endangered, threatened, or have unique characteristics. The document discusses several rare animal species including the Maltese tiger, a critically endangered subspecies of tiger with blue fur; tarsiers, nocturnal primates found in Southeast Asia; Peruvian black spider monkeys that disperse seeds in the Amazon rainforest; and a rare yellow turtle found in India due to a genetic mutation altering its green pigmentation.

2. How we considered animals rare ?
• Endangered species and almost extinct animals range from rainforest animals
to wild animals and African animals, many can be found on the endangered
species list which makes them rare animals. Some are the most endangered
species, others are threatened species.
3. The Maltese tiger
• The Maltese tiger, or blue tiger, Province of China. It is
said to have bluish fur with dark gray stripes. Most of
the Maltese tigers reported have been of the South
Chinese subspecies. The South Chinese tiger today is
critically endangered, due to their illegal and continued
use in traditional Chinese Medicine and the "blue"
alleles may be wholly extinct. Blue tigers have also been
reported in Korea. The term "Maltese" comes from
domestic cat terminology for blue fur, and refers to the
slate grey coloration. Many cats with such coloration are
present in Malta, which may have given rise to the use
of the adjective in this context.
4. Tarsier
• Tarsier, (family Tarsiidae), any of about 13 species of
small leaping primates found only on various islands of
Southeast Asia, including the Philippines. Tarsiers are
intermediate in form between lemurs and monkeys,
measuring only about 9–16 cm (3.5–6 inches) long,
excluding a tail of about twice that length. Tarsiers are
lemurlike in being nocturnal and having a well-developed
sense of smell. However, like monkeys, apes, and
humans, they have a nose that is dry and hair-covered,
not moist and bald as is that of lemurs.
5.
6. Peruvian Black Spider Monkey
• Found in eastern South America north
of the Amazon River, the Peruvian
Black Spider Monkey spends much of
its time in the canopy of the rainforest.
Eating mainly fruit, these monkeys are
an essential part of the tropical
rainforest ecosystem, playing a role in
seed dispersal.
7. Yellow Turtle
• In October, a bright yellow turtle got
caught in a fisherman’s net in West
Bengal, India. The Indian flap shell
turtle is normally green in color, but this
one made waves because of
pigmentation loss due to genetic
mutation, Shailendra Singh of Indian
Program Director of Turtle Survival
Alliance told The Times of India.
