Rainforests are found near the equator in parts of Australia, South America including the Amazon region. They are warm and wet places with big green leaves that provide habitat for many of Earth's animals. Rainforests have four main layers - the emergent layer, canopy, understory and forest floor, which various plants and animals call home.
