THE ROSICRUCIAN ORDER
PURPOSE AND WORK OF THE ORDER
The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, is a philosophical and initiatic tradition. As students progress in their studies, they are initiated into the next level or degree.
Rosicrucians are men and women around the world who study the laws of nature in order to live in harmony with them. Individuals study the Rosicrucian lessons in the privacy of their own homes on subjects such as the nature of the soul, developing intuition, classical Greek philosophy, energy centers in the body, and self-healing techniques.
The Rosicrucian tradition encourages each student to discover the wisdom, compassion, strength, and peace that already resides within each of us.
Conscious journeying: Traveling through Transformation and Transforming throu...Tiffany Foo
Traditionally, the theme of adangerous voyage or adventure has served as a broadly operative metaphor for the inner experience of the evolution of consciousness. What if we approached travel as a practice dedicated to exploration beyond the bounds of the familiar? Our journeys provide us with unique settings upon which this drama of evolutionary motion can be enacted. Weaving together personal travel anecdotes, developmental theory, archetypal symbolism, and the cultural phenomenon known as Couchsurfing, this presentation will explore what can we learn about ourselves, others, and the world through our intimate and awkward encounters with both the familiar and the unfamiliar terrains—the landscapes, culturescapes, we-scapes, and selfscapes—that compose the sum of our experiences.

2. • A symbol is a very significant way of conveying a
message and we feel that the ‘rainbow’ is most appropriate
as a symbol, as most telling of the goal and purpose of
our charitable trust.
• Instead of justifying on why we have chosen ‘Rainbow’ as
a symbol, we can just start with : Rainbow is a sign of
a symbol conveying a message of a new era, of unity and
of social change.
• GRF (Global Rainbow Foundation) is a charitable trust
which aims at supporting those who are unfavoured in life in
one way or another. Our own approach tries to be as all-
embracing as possible, tackling issues from various
perspectives and at various entry-points in as many different

3. • Above all, the GRF is about grassroots: it listens to actual
needs first and then digs deep to find causes and ways to
respond to them. GRF is about closeness and attention to
others. The GRF aims to cluster common values and
ideals to help unite co-ops around the world.
• A rainbow is a bridge of light – it connects the light of
the one to the light of another. Interconnecting one colour
ray with the other. A bridge symbolizing connection and
transformation in its purest form. It is a strong symbol of
empathy, of equality, of dignity and hope. It is the promise,
after various difficulties, of things getting better. For rainbows
appear after rain, after floods, as a harbinger of sunny days

4. Rainbow symbolises unity in diversity and the power of light,
enlightenment and progress. Each of the seven colours in GRF has
insightful meanings:
Red: Stands for Life & courage. A sense of belonging to each
Orange: Promises healing & offers the vision of possibilities to all;
Yellow: Represents clarity of mind, the Divine Light, Divine Power &
Green: This color is at the center, the heart of the Rainbow
It symbolizes Mother Earth, promising health and stability, regaining
strength and vitality.
Blue: Reminder for sky is the limit, in providing education to all
unity.
Dark blue: Symbolizes the GRF movement, Challenge to help less
through united GRF volunteers.
Violet: Is the divide color, a reminder of being wrapped by the

5. • The ‘rainbow’, with its many colours is also a way to
symbolize the diversity of the people in the GRF as well as
the diversity of the people they seek to help financially and
psychologically (through confidence building or otherwise).
• The rainbow; We are not intended to absorb the light, in forms
of enlightenment, joy and happiness, rather we are intended to
transmit it; and in doing so to unfold its meaning for others, in
extending a gentle hand and sharing love and laughter to all. The
mystical importance of the rainbow is intuitively perceived by all,
bubbling the childlikeness in each one, wanting to show and share
with all the beauty and elegance of the rainbow merging sky &
land across borders, beyond barriers. It inspires a sense of joy

6. • The range of colours reflects the equality our team believes
in and practises, giving equal consideration to all groups, to all
and communities. For us, all people are equal and should be
afforded the same opportunities in life.
• As we move closer and closer to other people; we feel
closer to life, closer to mother earth. The beauty of the
rainbow brings people of all walks of life to our organization
which in turn radiates peace. The use of the ‘rainbow’ as a
symbol hails from a long continued human tradition. The
rainbow has attracted the admiration and curiosity of all cultures
and mythologies across the world ranging from those of the
Sumerians to those of the Norse, the Greeks, Indigenous

7. • According to the Bible, the very first rainbow was a promise from God to
Noah that He would never again flood the entire earth.
• In ancient Hindu mythology, Indra, the Hindu god of thunder and war,
used the ‘Rainbow’ to shoot arrows of lightning, killing the Asura Vrta, a
primordial demon-serpent and lifted up the outcast was oppressed; and
glorified the blind and the lame.
• Chinese scientists like Sun Sikong and Shen Kuo, Persian scientists like al-
Shirazi and al-Farisi, and Europeans like Newton and Descartes were
similarly analysing the refraction that causes rainbows whereas poets from
all cultures have sung about rainbows. A fascination with rainbows merges
mythology and science and poetry and culture across civilisations. It is the
universal platform of a common humanity.

8. • Rainbows are used in contemporary culture tend to mark changes
in perception, in outlook. The rainbow symbol conveys a feeling of
peace of mind, security and comfort much as in the famous song in
The Wizard of Oz.
• We, at the Global Rainbow Foundation, have adopted the
‘rainbow’ as a symbol of diversity, inclusiveness, hope and yearning
to contribute to a forthcoming world in which the rights to
education, survival, protection, development and participation of
every child and adult of any race and/or social creed are upheld.
‘Rainbow’

9. • Our focus GRF is set to shed rays of light particularly on those who are
disadvantaged and those suffering from physical and mental disabilities.
• This is done through the promotion of opportunities that should allow all
people to unleash their energies to reach their full potential, contribute to
society, and have inputs in the processes that affect them.
• When we visualize all of humanity as being the same boat we
understand better how the action of the one positively affects everyone
else.
‘Rainbow’

10. • Consider how lifeless a monochrome rainbow would
look! Rainbows also symbolise how, by reinforcing the colour of each,
the distinct worthiness of each in their individual uniqueness, the
uniqueness, the collective rainbow is reinforced. Rainbows symbolise
symbolise both togetherness and respect for diversity. The beauty of
The beauty of rainbows lie in juxtaposing a variety of colours. We are
colours. We are actively inclusive. The GRF will gladly join hands with
join hands with other like-minded rainbow organizations and synthesise
and synthesise their own efforts to ours.
• Our aim is to bring a smile to every face; every smile a distinct colour
