3. INTRODUCTION
• Tooth decay and cavities are among the world most common health
problem.
• It afflict a large proportion of population mostly common in all
gender, ranging from infant, young and adult. (John Hicks. et Al.,
2003)
• Anyone with teeth can get cavities. And when cavities are not treated,
they expand and affects the inner layers of the teeth.

5. DENTAL CARIES
• Dental caries also known as tooth decay, is a complex and
multifactorial diseases.
• It happens when the environment favors the demineralization over
the reminerilization.

10. CONCLUSION
• The biochemical knowledge of caries is very important to this
generation and next generation to come, because with the basic
scientific knowledge of caries, the dentist make their decision on daily
basics.
