This study assessed differences in experiences of discrimination, perceptions of physical attractiveness, socioeconomic position, and mental health among students at a public university in Mexico City based on their skin color. A survey was conducted of students in health professions studying in their 8th, 9th, or 10th trimesters, with response rates ranging from 72% to 94%. Results showed students with low socioeconomic position reported less alcohol consumption but more fatigue, while those experiencing mistreatment had lower self-esteem and vitality and higher fatigue. Perceiving oneself as unattractive was also linked to lower self-esteem and vitality and higher fatigue.
