Questionnaire rationale

As a group we had to create a questionnaire about horror and this is
related to our preparation of the horror trailer as we can find out what the
demographic like and what they don’t want to see in the trailer. This
questionnaire will enable to see what audiences want to see in a trailer
such as the setting, weapon and to see if the victim will survive or not etc.
We created the questionnaire on survey monkey which could be
embedded on any website (Facebook, Twitter or other websites).

In the questionnaire we only used the multiple answers (only choose one
answer) because there are many advantages of these questions. Multiple
Choice Closed-ended questions are more easily analyzed this will make it
much easier for us when are incorporating our questionnaire results when
making our actual horror trailer. Closed-ended questions are also better
suited for computer analysis. If open-ended questions are analyzed
quantitatively, the qualitative information is reduced to coding and
answers tend to lose some of their initial meaning. Because of the
simplicity of closed-ended questions, this kind of loss is not a
problem.Multiple Choice Closed-ended questions can be more specific,
thus more likely to communicate similar meanings. Because open-ended
questions allow respondents to use their own words, it is difficult to
compare the meanings of the responses. In large-scale surveys, closed-
ended questions take less time from the interviewer, the participant and
the researcher, and so is a less expensive survey method. The response
rate is higher with surveys that use closed-ended question than with those
that use open-ended questions.

Our demographic ranges from fifteen to fifty one, but we specifically
wanted the demographic to fifteen to nineteen, as fifteenis the appropriate
age as horror films are rated fifteen. For our specific trailer we want the
target audience to be between fifteen and nineteen because that specific
age group are more likely to go to the cinema and watch a horror film.
