1. Questionnaire and FC and Cover Page Analysis Task Evaluation
In the completion of all my questionnaires the most voted for masthead was
“College Life”, this is why I decided to take this masthead and use it for my
college magazine. When asking what colour scheme would work best, the most
popular answer was bright colours. After seeing this I have decided to use
colours of blue as this was suggested in my questionnaire, this colour appeal to
both genders.
From the questionnaire answers I found out that when first seeing the front
cover of a magazine the things that stand out to people the most are the central
image, the masthead, flashes, colours, fonts and the features.
I have taken into account what interests people have and what they’d like to read
articles about when deciding what articles to create for the use on my front cover
and contents page. These are interests that people said they would like in the
magazine to read about: fashion, news, music, sports, events, revision tips,
movies, books, university degrees and saving tips. When deciding about my
articles I tried to take as many of these into account as I could. I also found out
that people would like both work/business and lifestyle articles.
From the FC and cover page analysis I found specific things that are often
included in college magazines. Ideas I took into account are bold colours and
fonts, images that stand out, flashes, clear, interesting layouts and inviting cover
lines.
