The document describes two examples of the applicant's leadership. In the first example, the applicant successfully started up a dry laundry operation in South Africa that faced challenges from heavy rain. Through breaking problems into action steps and motivating the team, the applicant ensured the operation started on time. In the second example, the applicant helped their product development function exceed cost-saving targets by engaging management support and restructuring project approaches. The applicant believes an IE MBA would broaden their knowledge and skills in leadership and organization development to strengthen their career and enable starting an engineering consulting firm.
Photography involves capturing moving subjects and scenes that are constantly changing, with the horizon representing a goal that may seem unattainable. The photographer must work quickly to understand tasks and solve problems while their mind races, even through difficult moments, gaining experience and skills over time to eventually find their style and direction in meeting the needs of customers.
Ruben enjoys cycling and motor biking, and finds that staying in motion is important to maintain balance, similar to how he approaches life and career challenges. He trains rigorously for cycling but finds the satisfaction after a race incomparable. Ruben hopes that studying at IE will provide him tools to keep progressing professionally and personally, just as cycling helps him move forward.

Benefits of being bilingual. For teenagers.Oscar Guzmán
This document discusses the benefits of being bilingual. It notes that 53% of Europeans are bilingual, compared to only 18% in the US. Being bilingual can provide cognitive benefits like improved problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities. It also opens up more career and travel opportunities. Bilingual individuals can experience higher earnings, ranging from 10-20% more than monolingual speakers. The document encourages learning a second language like Spanish, which is spoken by over 400 million people worldwide. It argues this can make individuals more attractive in the global marketplace and help address future demands in fields like education, healthcare, business, and law.
1. The document discusses the concept of success from different perspectives, noting that it can mean pursuing one's passions, following one's own path, overcoming obstacles, treating people well, excelling in multiple areas of life, and leaving the world a better place.
2. Success is difficult to define but requires a positive self-concept, clearly defined goals, hard work, and a willingness to take risks. It is important to determine one's own personal definition of success in order to know what goals to work towards each day.
3. Daily progress towards goals can bring a person closer to their ultimate success, so it is important to focus on the process rather than just the end result. Having a personal definition

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems
9
Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.
1. C. Describe a time when you took
a great risk.
What was the outcome?
Anggie Legiando Pratama
Application: Master in Management, Business Analytics and Big Data
2. • The biggest risk I took was when I decided to
continue my higher education in Germany.
• The outcome is the present me.
3. Why studying in Germany was the
biggest risk I took?
1. I was born and raised in Indonesia. None of my family members
studied in any universities before.
2. I came from lower middle class family. I did not have financial
security to fund my study.
3. I was 18 years old, I have never been abroad, and I did not speak
German.
4. If something bad happened to me, my parents would not be able to
visit me.
Yet, I still took the risk and went to study in Germany.
4. THE OUTCOME IS THE PRESENT
ME.
• Studying in Germany not only provides
opportunities for my personal development and
future career path, but it also changes and
transforms me to be a better person than I was
before.
• The following slides will contain several lessons I
learnt when I was in Germany
5. 1. How to live independently
• Moving to a country that has not been visited, with no friend, family and
relative can be very challenging and intimidating at the same time.
• I took this challenge, which is a big commitment and went to Germany. I went
out of my comfort zone because I really want to work internationally in a
global organization, become more competitive and successful.
• I was alone at the beginning, but along the way I found friends that I can rely
on.
6. 2. I become more independent and can
handle pressure
• During university I also hold
several part-time jobs to cover
all of my costs.
• It was hard but I didn’t let this
stuff hold me back. I didn’t
think about the pain and just
keep going to reach my dream.
• I always trying to do better and
compete with my self. I keep
challenging myself, push myself
to deliver the very best in
everything I do.
Me working at Restaurant
7. 3. Eye opening experiences as the
minority group
• Becoming the minority was one of the best things to happen to me because it
made me have a better understanding of the world. It gave me a chance to
question myself, if I tolerant of other people, made me look more closely at my
own culture and evaluate my own value.
• Before I came to Germany, I knew there was racism in Indonesia but I was part
of majority.
• May 1998 riots of Indonesia were one of incidents of mass violence of a racial
nature that occurred throughout Indonesia. But it didn’t have anything to do
with me, it was not my problem. But now I think differently, I know what it is
like to be non muslim, ethnic Chinese, or both in Indonesia. Now I think that
racism is everyone’s problem.
• Everyone should work harder to eradicate all forms of discrimination to make
the world a better place for everyone.
8. 4. Studying in Germany gave me the
opportunity to explore and travel the
world
9. 5. Intercultural Communication
• Studying in Germany required me to
speak German in proficient user level.
• Having no knowledge in German, I
still took the risk. With the help of self
determination I passed the German
languages in proficient user level only
after 7 months learning German.
• Not only speak, and think in new
language, I also acquired linguistic
knowledge and competencies in
intercultural communication as well
as social competencies - properties
that are becoming increasingly
important in globalized world.
“If you talk to a man in a languages he understands, that goes to
his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”
–Nelson Mandela
Whenever or wherever I travel, I always try to connect with the
people. It does not matter if they are fellow traveler or local
people, I can always learn something new from them.
10. 6. undjetzt?! Conference 2014
• I was lucky to be part of the undjetzt?!
Conference 2014 from August 22 until
August 29,2014.
• The aim of this conference is to connect
returnees from development volunteer
service, show them engagement
possibilities, to aggregates and build new
ideas.
• With the hope that I can connect and
learn from the returnees, listen to their
stories directly, I asked the organizers if I
could join this conference with my own
initiative.
• During the conference I took workshops,
lectures and discussions about
postcolonial, alternative lifestyles,
economy and environment.

11. 7. Entrepreneurship
• Growing up, my parents, especially my
mother, always dream for me to become
government workers.
• The emphasis on government jobs, in
particular, because my mother think
these job tend to be very secure. That is
about how deep her understanding of
world was.
• During my study at KIT, I joined student
entrepreneurship group.
• After joined this group I had the courage
to build a bigger dream to become
entrepreneur.
• A dream that not only create a new
business that can generate a bigger
income, but also create social change
and community development.

12. 8. LinkIT e.V.
• In autumn 2015, my fellow students at KIT and I created a student initiative LinkIT. We share
a common interest in Industry 4.0 (or the fourth industrial revolution) and the enthusiasm
for the future industrial technology.
• According to a study by the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, currently only
a very small part of the company in German have a high level of digitalization. They also
predict that in Germany alone there will be an enormous growth potential of almost 150
billion euros in the next five years.
• Our aim is to illuminate this multifaceted issue intensively and offer like-minded and
dedicated student, researchers and companies with a platform for knowledge exchange.
• LinkIT e.V. deals with the following five areas of Industry 4.0: Internet of Things, Big Data,
Virtual Engineering, Automation and Human-Machine Interaction.
• After established LinkIT, I become very confident to include Big Data in my Master Program.
13. Overall, the outcome was my transformation. I am endlessly
creating myself. I learned about team work, hard work,
communication, leadership skill, entrepreneurship, strategic
thinking and much more.
