This document discusses how the media product uses and develops conventions of the dystopian science fiction genre. It sets the story in a near future society that has a broken democracy and includes multiple cults with different beliefs that oppose both each other and the government, conveying chaos. It develops on genre conventions by including these diverse groups and showing different standards of living. Visual elements like weapons, religious imagery, and locations without landmarks are used to represent different factions through iconography and setting. Characterization is also conveyed through costumes representing different groups opposing the government. While trying to follow cinematography conventions, the camera movement was made more chaotic through editing to further dystopian conventions.
