1. What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?

2. The hardware is all the equipment and devices used
to construct the magazine ranging from the
computer to the SD card.

3.  I used a range of hardware in the production of my magazine. One the
most significant piece of equipment is the white Intel IMac that I used to
do the basis of my work on.
The Hardware that comes with this IMac is the
standard mouse and key board, I think that this
hardware has been beneficial to the production of
my magazine as they are easy to use with good short
cuts available which is good when designing.

4.  The photography equipment was an important part of the construction
of this magazine.The camera that I used was Nikon D3100 – Digital SLR
which is a manually set camera, the shutter speed was set at 1/300.
This piece of Hardware is called the horseshoe
flash trigger. This is in sync with the strobe
and the camera it also set at 1/300 and it is
used to make sure lights flash at the right time.
The SD card is used to the store
the photos on camera and the
can be transferred onto the
computer.

5.  Other pieces of camera equipment included the Hemisphere 300-stobe
light which is the device that sends the flash in sync with the camera
when the photo is a taken, this was vital a part of the photography
equipment.
These items are soft boxes they
are used to soften the light so it
does not appear to harsh on the
photo.
The last piece of photography equipment
was the backdrop, which gives the white
background this was also lit by two other
strobes.

6.  Software is the programs on the computer that were used to
create the magazine. I used several pieces of software in the
creation of my magazine, some were more important than
others.

7.  Photoshop was one of the most important pieces of
software that I used as I used it to create the whole
magazine, I had previous experience with Photoshop so I was
familiar with how it works which enabled me to do exactly
what I wanted with my magazine rather the learn the
software.

opened up in Photoshop, the layout of Photoshop
allows you to edit the the work easily and quickly.The
left side of the screenshot you can see the layers, the
layers are all the different pieces of the front cover.

provide various

highlighted
layer is that
layer you are
on, so in this
case the
image.

10. The box tool is used to select Shapes from and image so Be cut
or edited.
Lasso tool is uses to cut out detailed shapes leaving them with no
Background.
This tool is used to soften marks on an image.
The paint bucket is used to make the block colors such as the
background
This is the type, all my writing was done using this
The color palate is where you choose the colours.

11.  I used word a lot throughout the creation of my magazine particularly with the
article. Photoshop isn’t really made for writing and so it is better to the the bulk
writing in word as it has features that make it significantly easier.

making it easy and quick to work which
is why it was a key piece of software in
the creation of the magazine.
