Distribute

2. I would say that there is only really potential for
smaller and more niche institutions and companies,
such as Warp Films, to distribute our film. Despite our
film having content that is suitable for a wider
audience and may therefore have potential for a more
global company, it is still only a film with a relatively
standard plot, with a cast and production company
that is completely unknown. Making it more likely to
be just an exclusively British film.

3. Film4 is a great production company to consider when
thinking of potential distributors of our media product,
especially within the UK since that is where it has the
most influence.
This is because they are almost like a starting point for
new and upcoming films who want to gain a bit of
publicity, despite usually being small and independent.
Because of this, our film may have a high chance of
being considered since it fits with the criteria of what
they aim to help with.

4. Despite being a much larger and more global company,
Universal would be another Distributor that would
massively help promote our film. They are not as likely to
help distribute our film as they focus more on the high
profile and mainstream that are usually guaranteed
success. However, our film does still meet some of what
they seem to look for, since many of their films seem to be
completely, or include a bit, about the action genre. This
would also allow for our film to get global recognition,
hugely increasing it’s potential success.

5. It would also be very beneficial if we could get online
institutions, such as Netflix or Amazon Prime. This is
because they are highly successful and attract many
viewers worldwide. If this could be achieved it would
be a much easier way of getting the film out there
rather than trying to get any of the big global
companies to do it. However, a potential problem with
this method is that it would leave the film open for
problems like piracy and illegal downloading, since it is
available purely online.
