watch for an audience by a film distributor.
 Standard Release – A Standard Release is a routine for a movie that is
regulated by a business model called release windows.
 Simultaneous Release – A simultaneous Release occurs when a film is
produced and available on different types of media at the same time.
 Straight To Video Release – The Straight To Video Release takes place when a
film is released to home video formats without being released in cinemas.
 Internet Release – The internet release is when a movie is released onto the
internet such as streaming websites like Netflix or LoveFilm. However, movies
nowadays are being uploaded and released illegally to anonymous websites.

The similar films to my groups film are movies
like the Machinist, Insomnia, Se7en and Donnie
Darko. A distribution company that might be
interested in the film is Paramount Pictures as
they produce similar styles of films and are
known for making 15.5 percent of the
Us/Canadian store share in the year 2007.
Moreover, Paramount Studios are a major Big Six
studio which means they are successful. This
means it would be difficult for Paramount Studios
to distribute the movie ‘Lassus’ as I am and
independent film maker.

appeal to the US and other countries that can
relate to the predicament that character
Lassus is in. The reason the movie Lassus
would appeal to the UK is because British
Films are popular. Furthermore, Lassus would
appeal to the US as there have been movies
in the past that have been produced similar
to Lassus in Hollywood known as Insomnia,
Machinist and Se7en.

The first strategy would be to produce a trailer as this gives
the target market a notion of what the movie would be
about. This is an effective way for the audience to be
excited, intrigued and attract the audience to watch the
film when its released in theatres.
Furthermore, creating a website would be an effective
method which includes information about my film involving
the trailer, cast, directors etc.
Moreover, another method to attract the audiences
attention is by putting posters on the London transports
such as buses. Also being an independent film maker it
would be smart to take advantage of the social media sites
such as Facebook and Twitter to promote my movie.

use streaming websites such as LoveFilm and
Netflix as they have a million users using
their sites every day.
I would exhibit my film to TV channels known
as ITV, Film4, BBC Three and Channel 4.
A Standard Release sounds like an
appropriate method as its smart to distribute
the movie to smaller cinemas as there will be
an overload of people wanting to see it.
