Marie of Edinburgh, also known as Marie of Romania, was the last Queen of Romania as the wife of King Ferdinand I. She was born in 1875 in Great Britain to Prince Alfred of Saxa-Coburg and Gotha and the Duchess of Russia. Marie married Prince Ferdinand I of Romania at age 16 and they had five children together, including Carol II who later became king of Romania. Marie was a devoted queen and soldier for Romania.
