This document provides an example of calculating the first and third quartiles (Q1 and Q3) of a normal distribution with a mean of 100 and standard deviation of 15. It shows that for a normal distribution, Q1 is equal to the mean minus 0.67 standard deviations, or 89.95. Q3 is equal to the mean plus 0.67 standard deviations, or 110.05. The document demonstrates how to use the normal distribution and z-table to find quartiles from the mean and standard deviation of the distribution.
