During the lesson

Our daily message tells that “Animals live in
different places.”
Let us say again our daily message.
The teacher will show pictures of animals that
live on land, in water and air.
Do you know these animals in the picture?
(Learners will name the animals) Will you
name them?
Some animals live on land.
Some animals live in water. They live in rivers
and seas.
Some animals can live in air.
Do you know some animals that live on
land? in water? in air?
Can you give me some animals that live on
land? water? air?

parts, kind, habitat (PNEKP-IIb-8)
After the lesson
Teacher will say:
What are the animals that live on land? in
water? air?
The teacher will show a picture on the board.
What can you see in the picture?
Show a magic box. Learners will pick one
picture of an animal and where it lives.
Do the activity until all the pictures of
animals are pasted.

Animal Mask
Procedures:
1. Ask each learner to choose the
animal s/he wants to make into a
mask.
2. Discuss what parts will be included in
the mask (e.g., whiskers for cats,
scales for fish, feathers for birds.
3. Using the art materials the learners
are free to add/draw parts of the
animal’s face to the mask.

Independent Activities:
Classification Chart: Habitat of Animals
Procedures:
1. Let the children cut the pictures.
2. The learners will identify the habitat
of each animal and paste the animal
picture under their habitat in the
chart.
Animal Hunt
Procedures:
1. Learners will find and count the
animals that live on land, water,
and air.
2. Count the animals and write their
answer in the space provided.

The teacher will show pictures of animals that live on land, in water and air. Do you know these animals in the picture? (Learners will name the animals) Will you name them? Some animals live on land. Some animals live in water. They live in rivers and seas. Some animals can live in air. Do you know some animals that live on land? in water? in air? Can you give me some animals that live on land? water? air? 1.5.2 Apply a range of teaching strategies to develop critical and creative thinking, as well as other higher-order thinking skills. 4.1.2 Plan, manage and implement developmentally sequenced teaching and learning process to meet curriculum requirements and varied teaching contexts. 4.5.2 Select, develop, organize and use appropriate teaching and learning resources, including ICT, to address learning goals. Content Standard Ang bata ay nagkakaroon ng pag-unawa sa:  characteristics and needs of animals and how they grow Performance Standard Ang bata ay nagpapamalas ng:  take care of oneself and the environment and able to solve problems encountered within the context of everyday living.  communicate the usefulness of animals and practice ways to care for them Learning Competency Code  Name common animals (PNKEKA-Ie-1)  Demonstrate movements using different body parts (PNEKBS-Ic-3)  Group animals according to certain characteristics (how they look/ body, coverings/parts, how they move, sounds they make, what they eat, where they live) (PNEKA-IIIi-4)  Group plants according to certain characteristics, e.g., parts, kind, habitat (PNEKP-IIb-8)
  • 3. After the lesson Teacher will say: What are the animals that live on land? in water? air? The teacher will show a picture on the board. What can you see in the picture? Show a magic box. Learners will pick one picture of an animal and where it lives. Do the activity until all the pictures of animals are pasted. Ask each learner to choose the animal s/he wants to make into a mask. 2. Discuss what parts will be included in the mask (e.g., whiskers for cats, scales for fish, feathers for birds. 3. Using the art materials the learners are free to add/draw parts of the animal’s face to the mask. 1.1.2 Apply knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas. 5.1.2 Design, select, organize and use diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies consistent with curriculum requirements. Let the children cut the pictures. 2. The learners will identify the habitat of each animal and paste the animal picture under their habitat in the chart. Animal Hunt Procedures: 1. Learners will find and count the animals that live on land, water, and air. 2. Count the animals and write their answer in the space provided.
