2. Countable Nouns
• Nouns that you count as 1, 2, 3….
• Example: an apple , two apples, three
apples/a banana, two bananas / a driver , two
drivers
• In terms of geographical features,
• A mountain, two mountains / A beach , two
beaches / A lake , two lakes
3. Uncountable Nouns
• Nouns that you CANNOT count as 1, 2, 3….
• Example: water / juice/ time/ money…
• Other useful nouns that are uncountable,
• Pollution / traffic / sand / space..
• Note: zero article
4. Quantifiers
• A quantifier is a type of determiner that indicates
quantity.
• For example:
There are some apples.
(Note the plural verb for plural countable nouns)
There is some traffic.
(Note the singular verb for uncountable nouns)

Obviously, as we have learnt yesterday, singular nouns use the articles a / an.
But for nouns in plural:
