Quantifiers are adjectives and adjectival phrases that indicate approximate or specific quantities in response to questions about "How much?" or "How many?". Certain quantifiers like "a little" and "a bit of" are only used with uncountable nouns. Others like "a few" and "a number of" are only used with countable nouns. Still others like "much" and "many" can be used with both countable and uncountable nouns, especially in interrogative, affirmative, and negative sentences using "too" and "so".
