Introduction to Pareto Diagram
 Pareto chart is based on "Pareto rule" or "80/20 rule" named after
economist Vilfredo Pareto
 The rule states that 20% of invested input is responsible for 80% of
results obtained
 Pareto is a form of bar graph that displays criteria in descending order
 Pareto graphs are useful for identifying the significant elements, such
as best and worst or most and least
 Pareto chart separates the vital few from trivial many
 Pareto helps in breaking problems into smaller pieces, identifying most
significant factors, shows where to focus on and allows better use of
limited resources

Problem Definition
 The academic lectures are meant to be attended regularly for better
understanding of the subject but students tend to bunk lectures which
not only hampers their knowledge building but also creates disinterest
towards studies or that particular subject.
 The problem can be solved to some extent if the lectures are more
interactive and interest is developed about the subject by various steps
towards the same.
Lessons learned by team
 We as students found out the positive results of being in the classroom.
As absenteeism can spoil our future too. We will learn to be disciplined
and other moral values to be present in the classroom. We will also
understand the concepts related to our curricular by being regular in
Class. The encouragement, rewards and gaining attention after
understanding the consequences, improve our self esteem too.
 We as a team also learned about Pareto principle which is also known
as "80/20 rule" through this challenge
