People search various questions, phrases or words. But some words and phrases are searched
more often than others.
For example, the words, ‘running shoes’ are searched more often than ‘best road running
shoes for men’
These words or phrases which people use to search on Google are called Keywords.
Some keywords are searched more often than others. Number of times a keyword is searched
for in a month is called keyword volume.
Some keywords have more relevant results than others. For the phrase “running shoes” we
get more than 80M relevant results, whereas for “best road running shoes for men” we get
only 8.
The former keyword ‘running shoes’ has way more competition from popular websites to
new and small blogs, whereas the latter keyword doesn’t have that much competition. This
search competition for a keyword is called search difficulty of a keyword or keyword
difficulty.
In other words, if the keyword difficulty is ‘low’ or ‘easy’, there won’t be any competition
and if you target such keywords on your site, you can easily rank on the front page of Google.
Some keywords are searched for, just to know or to learn some information about something,
that’s their search intention. For example, “What shoe size should I choose?” or “How to pick

13. Lauren Fryer
Managing Partner
Bringing 16 years of expertise and experience, in PR, Media Relations, Marketing, Crisis comms, strategy
development and event marketing, Lauren is Qanect's founding and managing partner.
Lauren has worked with the leaders in the media including the BBC, Time Warner, Network Ten and ITP Publishing
wile based in London, Dubai, Melbourne and now Qatar.
Lauren has created strong relationships and ties within the local business community. Sitting on the board of EO
Qatar and taking instrumental roles with numerous organisations Lauren not only spearheads the ongoing
development of Qanect but also the marketing industry in Qatar.
14. Jane Wilson
Research Director
Jane brings 20 years of international experience to Qanect's research team.
Over the last 10 years in the Middle East, Jane has setup and run the research group for Emirates and developed
the Leisure and Travel department at YouGov before moving to Qatar.
As a member of the Global Market Research Society and with a formidable education Jane is able to offer an
international level of both primary and secondary research planning, execution and evaluation to Qanect's clients.
15. Justin Floyd
Marketing Director
Educated on the cutting edge of both marketing and branding theory, Justin has worked internationally with the
likes of L’Oreal, Cisco Systems, Red bull, Bentley and Jack Daniels each time demonstrating his ability to adapt to
any corporate and customer environment.
With a background in brand management, client services, media planning and event management, Justin
specializes in situational analysis and brand architecture, delivering actionable and strategic direction to his clients.
Justin manages several key accounts across education, construction and IT. His role extends to spearheading all
strategy and proposal development for new business, as well as marketing plans and budget development for our
clients and all brand management activities undertaken by the company.
16. Menna Hazem
PR Director
Fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish and French and with a background in Communications, PR, Media Relations
and Event Management, Menna specializes in the development and management of PR plans across Qanect's
client base.
Through her work experience in Doha for the past 4 years she has created strong relationships with key local
media in addition to regional and international. Her expertise and skills in public relations, make her an expert in
writing all relevant materials and delivering the desired objectives.
17. Saba Karim
Senior Marketing and
Project Manager
Saba has worked in a diverse range of marketing and communication strategy roles with companies including
Citigroup and the Abu Dhabi Group, where she looked after brand management, corporate communication, PR and
corporate social responsibility portfolios. She has worked on a variety of ATL and BTL campaigns
Educated with an MPhil degree from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, Saba is the project lead and
marketing manager for a major Government client at Qanect, where she leverages her regional experience and
skills.
18. Maya Saidani
Assistant Marketing Manager
With a Diploma in Business Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (Dubai) Maya has built up a strong
grounding in the principles of modern business management. Having lived in Doha for 10 years, she is not only fluent in Arabic and
English but has also developed an in-depth knowledge of the culture and community.
Maya has taken part in numerous positions in Qatar with organisations such as COP, UNFCC, United Nations, Futurallia and Silatech.
Maya currently works with Pamela at Qanect as an Assistant Marketing Manager on numerous hospitality clients. Maya is a
exceptional member of the Qanect team with an unsurpassed ability to work with government departments and a determination to
ensure all campaigns developed by Qanect are carried out to perfection.
Maya joined Qanect as Marketing Coordinator and is responsible for creating and executing PR and Marketing.
19. Varsha Vasudevan
Assistant Marketing Manager
With a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication and an M.B.A in Marketing Communications, Varsha has
worked for companies such as Star Vijay TV Network and Ogilvy &Mather (India). She has an excellent grasp
of the communications industry and has previously managed brands like Paerryware, Roca, Khazana, and
SFM (Radio channel). With a major in Television production, Varsha was also involved in the production of the
Television show “Super Singer”, South India’s first ever reality show. She was also the key person in the
launch of “Roca” (world’s no.1 in Sanware) in the Indian market.
At Qanect, Varsha is responsible for managing client relations, providing strategic marketing direction and
supervising multimedia projects.
20. Suliemaan Ahmed
Creative Manager
With a B.A. in graphic design and advanced courses in graphics and illustration software, Suliemaan is responsible
for the design of all client projects, from conception to launch, an expert in translating business requirements into
effective advertising campaigns while ensuring projects meet all deadlines and budget requirements.
Having participated in brand development and advertising campaigns for Qtel, q.media, q.mobility, Official
Motorsport Rally of Jordan, FollowFridayHelper and Bless Jordan to name a few, Suliemaan brings to Qanect a
wealth of experience and creativity.
