The audience for the media product would depend on the featured artist that week. Dolly Parton would attract life long fans and hopefuls interested in her story of rising from poverty. Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift appeal more to a younger female audience through their incorporation of pop music. Featuring Brad Paisley would target male audiences who grew up with his music and older women, while younger men have generally been attracted more to rap, hip hop and dub step than country.

1. 4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my product is more determined on content that
week. Country has been through different stages. For example
we have Dolly Parton who was one of the biggest country stars
of her generation. The female audience are attracted to her as
she is the original woman that went from rages to riches. Her
story would want to be read by hopefuls and life long fans.
However we have more recent country singers such as Carrie
Underwood and Taylor Swift. They use the term country loosely
as they are also a mixture of pop. This then targets a younger
female audience, as they find them idols.
Country was nevertheless started by men. If Brad Paisley was
on the cover, it would target the male audience who would read
about ‘the good old days’ and the music they grew up with.
Older woman would associate with this as well. Unfortunately
the younger generation of men have been attracted by rap, hip
hop and dub step. Therefore they are simply not into this kind of
music, eliminating them as a target audience. This allows the
images to be all about the music and not about the image to
attract.
