For the first nine months of 2004, United Stationers reported net income of $70.7 million and earnings per share of $2.08, compared to net income of $61.3 million and earnings per share of $1.86 for the first nine months of 2003, when a loss on early debt retirement and a change in accounting principle were excluded.
