Punting Rules A punt can be declared on any down Teams may not leave the scrimmage line until the punted ball has crossed the L-o-S plane The kicker must punt the ball quickly in a continuous motion A ‘muff’ is like a fumble, dead at the spot
Punting the Ball The kicking team may only recover the ball if it hits a receiving player and is then caught in the air The kicking team may not interfere with the receiver A ‘downed’ ball may be picked up and run by the receiving team DECLARED PUNT SIGNAL
Punting Roles and Positions POSITIONS: R + LJ : stay the same. BJ : Parallel to deepest receiver – 8 to 10 yards wide. Primarily responsible for the ball and the receivers FJ : 30 to 35 yds downfield.  Assist the Back Judge. If the punt goes out of bounds, it is the R and LJ responsibility to see the spot. Everyone must watch for illegal blocks and contact on the return.
Co - Ed Rules # of Players:  8 vs. 8 5  players must be on the Line at the Snap A  Male Runner  cannot advance the ball through the Line Mercy Rule:  25 points or more within or at the 2 Minute Warning. Touchdown by a Female  = 9 points Thrown Touchdown by a Female  = 9 points
Open and Closed Plays There may not be 2 consecutive passes from a Male to a Male.  If there is a successful completion from a Male passer to a Male receiver; the next pass must involve either a Female passer or receiver.  Penalties do not change the open/closed status of the play.
Open and Closed Plays It is an Illegal Forward Pass if there are 2 consecutive Male to Male passes.  The Penalty is enforced from the spot of where the pass is released – and a loss of down is assessed.  Applies to Trys for extra points as well.  A Female passer cannot complete a forward pass behind the line of scrimmage to a Male receiver to change the play to open.
