This recipe is for Puli Aval, a South Indian snack made of poha (flattened rice), tamarind juice, lentils, and spices. The ingredients include poha, tamarind, lentils, curry leaves, red and green chilies, turmeric, and sesame oil. The method is to soak the tamarind to extract juice, temper mustard seeds and lentils in hot oil, add the tamarind juice and poha, and simmer until the poha is cooked and flavors are blended. Salt is added at the end before serving hot.
