This document discusses four main causes of air pollution in Ecuador: 1) Vehicles that use low-quality fuels emit high levels of pollution. 2) Volcanic ashes contain harmful heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and arsenic that can cause respiratory and skin issues. 3) Many cities have factories and industries that emit harmful gases. 4) Hydroelectric power plants release particulate matter and gases from their combustion engines. The document concludes with recommendations to reduce pollution such as not littering, caring for plants, wearing masks, and properly disposing of trash.

6. VEHICLES :The highest air pollution is caused by
vehicles using low quality hydrocarbons, according
to the National Hydrocarbons Directorate of Ecuador.
For example, the amount of sulfur that diesel has in
our country is ten times greater.
THE VOLCANIC ASHES: They contain lead, cadmium
and arsenic. In addition, large particles cause
respiratory problems, conjunctivitis, allergies in the
skin, among others. Affections that affect children,
the elderly and the most vulnerable segments of the
population.
INDUSTRIES :Many cities of the country coexist with
factories and other industries that eliminate harmful
gases.
ELECTRICITY GENERATION: Hydroelectric plants
emit particulate matter from combustion engines, in
addition to gases.
