Gabrielle volunteered for 30 hours with the Shawnee Mission School District's food services department over two weeks. During her time, she assisted with nutrient analysis of menus, setting up a new coffee bar concept, observing a food safety check, attending a supervisor meeting, tabulating a student survey, participating in a cookie sampling survey, and helping to cost out recipes. The manager thanked Gabrielle for her help and offered continued support as she pursues becoming a registered dietitian.
