Props and Wardrobe
By Nuala, Tracy, Rosette and Nicole
Emily’s outfit
Emily who played Lisa wore black leggings with a
black and white designed vest top. We thought
this would be a good outfit for her to wear as it
is casual but the top makes the outfit dressy. As
she is at a party we thought this was appropriate
as she looked appropriate for the party scene.
The codes and conventions of a thriller usually
have black and white colours used. These
colours show there is a good and bad side to
Lisa, which will leave the audience wondering if
Lisa is a good or a bad character and will make
     them think.
Rick’s outfit
Rick who plays Rich the gangster wore a dark
navy jacket and black jeans. We decided he
should wear dark colours so he looked
mysterious. These colours make him a very
suspicious character and as his hood is up it
hides his identity and makes him look a scary
character. The colours navy and black portray a
bad image of Rich and black is usually
associated with bad people. Also as parties are
usually dark it is less obvious for the other
people to see him. When you see him in the
camera it makes it really tense and leaves the
audience on the edge of their seats when he
just grabs her and drags her off.
Tape

We used black masking tape to cover Lisa’s
mouth with when she is tied up behind
the chair. We specifically used black tape
as black is a colour used mostly in thrillers
as it conveys a dark and suspicious mood.
This creates an eerie atmosphere and it
makes the audience want to know where
Lisa is and what is going to happen to her
  next.
Gloves

Once again we kept the colours of our
equipment's and props very dark to
    portray a sinister mood.
    Furthermore, most criminals wear black
gloves when committing a crime, so we
    wanted to meet these realistic
    expectations. This also hides the
identity of the gangster so he remains
anonymous and the audience have no
    idea of who he is.
Rope
The rope is a dark grey colour as we
wanted it to be visible when doing the
panning shot as Lisa(Emily) is wearing black
leggings, so if we were to use black rope it
would of blended in so we decided to use
dark grey. Also, when people are kidnapped
they are typically tied up so we once again
wanted to meet this stereotypical scenario.
This makes the audience weary for Lisa’s
safety as her being tied up shows she is not
  safe and is in danger.
