This proposal examines environmental management and property rights relating to encroachment and evictions from Kenya's Mau Forest complex. The researcher aims to assess the balance between environmental conservation and property rights protections. Specifically, the study will analyze the legal framework around evictions in Kenya, the socio-economic impacts of evictions on communities, the environmental impacts, and challenges facing displaced communities. The researcher will employ questionnaires, interviews, and observation to investigate these issues and identify solutions for managing the Mau Forest complex. The study is justified by the need to balance environmental and human rights concerns regarding deforestation and evictions in the Mau Forest.
