This proposal outlines plans to create an interactive website for Oz Backpackers to provide travel tips and information to help people plan trips to Australia. The site will be developed using Adobe Flash to include features like rollover buttons, a navigation bar, text pages, and animations. It will contain pages with information on safety tips, bookings, hostels, and an introductory home page. Considerations around legal and ethical issues like copyright, inappropriate content, and inclusiveness are also discussed. The target audience is travelers aged 19 and older, and the site should be fully functional by November 30th.

1. Proposal
Oz backpackers have assigned me to create an interactive and animated website to assist people
who are thinking on traveling to Australia and in general helpful tips on travel and how to be safe
whilst traveling on long journeys. They want the site to be a flash site and have many different
interactive features and good animations. We will be aiming the website at travellers and people
who appreciate the outdoors. Oz backpackers want the site to be fully interactive and the best
program to use for this kind of site is Adobe Flash. Target audience is very important while creating a
website because the target audience helps decide, colours, text, images and amount of information.
So this is the first thing we will be thinking about and at the moment we have decided the age range
is 19 and older and the site will be structured around this.
We will require some things on the site such as Roll over buttons, Navigation bar, text and various
pages dedicated to different parts of safe travel. These technical requirements will be spread out
throughout the pages on the site. I will be adding all of these features to the website and this will
give it the professional feel that comes with most company websites/webpages. The navigation bar
will be placed at the top of the page, easy layout means easy navigation. I will also have various
buttons throughout my website though they will be consistent and not random. And will be placed
on the Navigation bar located at the top of each page. The main buttons will be Home, Tips,
bookings, hostels.
All of these pages will have sufficient information so that they are very helpful to any travellers that
are going abroad. And especially how to be safe in Australia, I will be using drop down menus on the
bookings page, and information boxes on the tips page, the home page will be a quick introduction
to the site and what you should expect to find within the pages. All this content will be target
audience specific. For navigation purposes there will also be a search bar for the users to quickly find
information that they individually are searching for.
We will need some resources to complete this task the main one is access to Adobe Flash so that we
can make the site completely intractable and have many different animation. Also need access to
the internet so we can gather many more resources for the site. The site should be completed by the
30th of November and will be fully functional, this means all links will work throughout the site and
the necessary amount of text will be on the pages, also the images will work and the colours and
animations will have been added throughout.
Legal and ethical rights needs to be considered while creating a website, this we agree to and will
not be showing any inappropriate images, no nudity and we will have no sexism or racism within the
website it will be aimed at all genders and races. We will also be dealing with copyright, the site will
be owned by Oz backpackers and they will hold all the rights to the site, also the graphics will be
copyrighted so they cannot be used by other website developers. There will be no reference to
drugs or any disability the website will be suitable for everyone and of all ages this also widens the
target audience for us and allows everyone to feel comfortable using the site because of the suitable
images and information within.
