6. Preventing Fires and Burns
Use cookware that is in good condition
Inspect cookware before use for cracks and
fractures
Handle cookware with dry potholders or oven
mitts!
Keep flammable items away from heat and
flame!!
7. Oven Safety
Arrange oven racks as you want them
BEFORE you turn on the oven
Stand to one side when you open an oven
Use a potholder or oven mitt to remove
cookware from an oven
Turn oven and broiler off immediately after use
Clean up spills and crumbs
8. Cord Safety
Check cords for damage before use
Do NOT staple or nail cords in place
Limit the number of cords in an outlet
9. Appliance Safety
Read owners manual!
Never put your fingers in an appliance that is
plugged in!
Unplug a mixer before removing the beaters
