Proof of Phone KYC Oracle built on Ethereum platform. Using this service you can join your phone number and Ethereum address. Winner of Building Blocks Hackathon on Consensus Conference, May '16.
Blocknotary is a service that timestamps media files in the blockchain to prove their existence and integrity. It stores over 75 million transactions in the blockchain and has timestamped over 106,000 transactions using the OP_RETURN protocol. It competes with other proof of existence services both for web and mobile. Blocknotary works with popular apps like Google Photos, Dropbox, Apple Camera and Notes to timestamp photos and files from use cases like insurance claims, inspections, and verbal contracts on mobile devices.
BlockNotary app allows you to store the digital fingerprint of your files in the public ledger called “The Blockchain”.
Think of it as a notary for the digital age. The App is as simple as clicking the “Share” button.
The document summarizes Ethereum, a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts and serves as a programmable database. It discusses how Ethereum allows for decentralized applications that do not require trusting intermediaries. Ethereum uses blockchain technology and smart contracts to enable new types of distributed organizations and economies without centralized control. The document also briefly describes several companies building applications on Ethereum, as well as Bitnation which aims to provide governance services in a decentralized manner using blockchain technology.
Emerging trends in IP searching: Machine/AI based searching - Anoop Cheeran &...Balakrishna Uppala
Abstract: Intellectual Property (IP) analytics is an area that is growing at a fast pace in view of the importance of IP in an increasingly technology dependent world. There are large number of patent applications filed every year, in several different languages; these has made the task of prior art search very challenging. The traditional search strategies using boolean & proximity operators along with select keywords seem increasingly inadequate and unreliable in identifying the relevant prior art. The gap has triggered the development of search engines with features and tools that increasingly rely on machine/artificial intelligence; some of them utilize text-mining and language processing algorithms to quickly zoom into more relevant prior art. Many of these tools uses semantics/natural text, similarity or patent/patent publication – citation based search and categorization approaches. We will share few of our observations on the emerging scenario, covering AI/machine based search options from established players like Orbit and also relatively novice but specialized players like Automatch, Ambercite etc.
Blockchain 101 provides an overview of blockchains and distributed ledgers. It explains that a blockchain is a linked list of digital blocks that chronicles events in the lifetime of an entity. Each block contains a cryptographic signature, references the previous block, and may include smart contracts. Blockchains use cryptography and consensus to securely link blocks together, making the chain difficult to modify. Distributed ledgers store identical copies of blockchains across multiple databases, reaching consensus on the data through majority agreement.
A completed modeling of local binary pattern operatorWin Yu
This document presents the completed local binary pattern (CLBP) operator for texture classification. CLBP generalizes and completes the local binary pattern (LBP) by using a local difference sign-magnitude transform to encode the missing texture information not captured by LBP. The CLBP operator fuses three codes - CLBP_C for the center pixel, CLBP_S for the signs of differences, and CLBP_M for the magnitudes. Experiments on the Outex texture database show CLBP achieves much better classification accuracy than LBP and other state-of-the-art methods.

With the addition of OP_RETURN outputs in version 0.9, it became possible to attach arbitrary pieces of information to bitcoin transactions. This turns bitcoin into a low-level communications protocol, just like TCP/IP, on which many new applications can be built.
Despite its powerful features, bitcoin is also limited, costly and inefficient compared to TCP/IP. After discussing which sorts of applications make this trade-off worthwhile, we talk about CoinSpark, a new open source protocol for enhancing bitcoin transactions, which makes extensive use of OP_RETURNs.

ProgrammableWeb's eSignature API Research ReportProgrammableWeb
The document evaluates and compares the APIs of seven e-signature services. It finds that DocuSign has the most comprehensive API with superior documentation, sample code, tools, and community support. HelloSign and Sertifi e-Sign Live also have strong APIs. The APIs of Adobe EchoSign, Barracuda SignNow, RightSignature, and Silanis e-Sign Live were disappointing due to brief or confusing documentation and lack of sample code. The document analyzed the APIs from the perspective of a programmer, focusing on features that help integrate e-signatures into workflows quickly and effectively.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
