INTRODUCTION
In the year 1818, a momentous milestone was achieved with the establishment of the
inaugural textile mill by Fort Gloster in Calcutta. It contributes a substantial 14% to
the overall industrial production. The textile industry also plays a pivotal role in the
financial landscape, accounting for an impressive 8% of the total excise revenue
collection. Furthermore, it emerges as a significant player in employment,
generating a remarkable 21% of the total workforce engaged in economic activities.
The Indian textile industry is known for its massive raw material and textiles
manufacturing base. It is incredible to note that approximately 27% of our foreign
exchange earnings come from the export of textiles and clothing alone.
OBJECTIVES
• To research the value and necessity of employees high-quality work lives.
• To assess the standard of work-life policies followed by female employees in Tirupur
clothing companies.
• To assess female employees satisfaction with their work-life balance in a few chosen
Tirupur clothing companies.
• To analyze the measures adopted by the organization to improve the quality of work
life among workers.
NEED OF THE STUDY
• On an average, a worker spends twelve hours per day in their work place for livelihood.
• Approximately one third of their entire life span is spent in the workplace and it will make its
own influences on the overall quality of the human’s entire life.
• It is considered as the major duty of the organization tomake them feel happy, satisfied during
their work and feel secured during working period.
• That is possible when an organization develop work environments that are excellent for
people as well as for the economic health of the organization.
• Dissatisfaction on the above is a problem affecting all employees during their career,
regardless of their position
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
• The nature of the study is descriptive. It examines the current state of life's quality
work and identifies the influencing elements.
• The focus of this research is limited to workers in the Tirupur district's textile
industry.
• The purpose of the study is to examine how much value employees placed on the
standard of living in the textile mill.
• The study provides insight into the critical determinants and characteristics that
improve the quality of work life.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Prior to solving an issue, it is necessary to define and assess the issue at hand. A non-
conducive work environment is created for women employees in textile mills by poor
working conditions, unfavorable terms of employment based on personal benefits,
inhumane treatment and inadequate health benefits, and frustration over the lack of wage or
salary provision. The following queries are examined in light of the aforementioned
problems.
1. How much did female workers in textile mills feel about the quality of their lives
at work?
2. To what extent did the unfavorable working conditions in the mill environment
affect the female employees?
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
AREA OF THE STUDY : The data for the research will be collected from the
women workers in textile industry.
SAMPLING SIZE : 100
PERIOD OF STUDY : December 2023 to March 2024
SOURCE OF DATA :
PRIMARY DATA :
The study is mainly based upon the primary data – Primary data is
collected through the Questionaries in the Tirupur city.
SECONDARY DATA :
It has been collected from the Magazines, Journals, Websites,
Report, Research Studies etc.
RESEARCH DESIGN
This study is empirical in nature and based on survey method. The direct
data for this study has been collected from the human resource department of the
company. The vital part of the study, the primary data was collected from 100
women employees.
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE
A probabilistic sampling has been used in this study. In Tirupur more than
350 large, median and small Textile firms are located. There is huge difference
between the textile firms regarding their operation and organization environment. In
order to speed up the research work and collect the response from various personal
and demographic backgrounds of employees in a stipulated time, the researcher will
be adapted a Convenient sample for selection of sample respondent for the study.
LIMITATIONS
• It was impossible to completely prevent studies that involved attitudes, inaccurate or
incomplete data, or blanks for certain questions; nevertheless, the researcher made
every effort to minimize these errors.
• Limited discussion with women employees of the textile mills was done due to
paucity of time.
• The present study focuses only on Tirupur district as said above.
• The implications of the study are subject to the limitations of sample size,
psychological and emotional characteristics of surveyed population that is employees
of other mills at located various places in Tamil Nadu may vary.

  • 2. INTRODUCTION In the year 1818, a momentous milestone was achieved with the establishment of the inaugural textile mill by Fort Gloster in Calcutta. It contributes a substantial 14% to the overall industrial production. The textile industry also plays a pivotal role in the financial landscape, accounting for an impressive 8% of the total excise revenue collection. Furthermore, it emerges as a significant player in employment, generating a remarkable 21% of the total workforce engaged in economic activities. The Indian textile industry is known for its massive raw material and textiles manufacturing base. It is incredible to note that approximately 27% of our foreign exchange earnings come from the export of textiles and clothing alone.

OBJECTIVES • To research the value and necessity of employees high-quality work lives. • To assess the standard of work-life policies followed by female employees in Tirupur clothing companies. • To assess female employees satisfaction with their work-life balance in a few chosen Tirupur clothing companies. • To analyze the measures adopted by the organization to improve the quality of work life among workers.

NEED OF THE STUDY • On an average, a worker spends twelve hours per day in their work place for livelihood. • Approximately one third of their entire life span is spent in the workplace and it will make its own influences on the overall quality of the human’s entire life. • It is considered as the major duty of the organization tomake them feel happy, satisfied during their work and feel secured during working period. • That is possible when an organization develop work environments that are excellent for people as well as for the economic health of the organization. • Dissatisfaction on the above is a problem affecting all employees during their career, regardless of their position
  • 5. SCOPE OF THE STUDY • The nature of the study is descriptive. It examines the current state of life's quality work and identifies the influencing elements. • The focus of this research is limited to workers in the Tirupur district's textile industry. • The purpose of the study is to examine how much value employees placed on the standard of living in the textile mill. • The study provides insight into the critical determinants and characteristics that improve the quality of work life.
  • 6. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Prior to solving an issue, it is necessary to define and assess the issue at hand. A non- conducive work environment is created for women employees in textile mills by poor working conditions, unfavorable terms of employment based on personal benefits, inhumane treatment and inadequate health benefits, and frustration over the lack of wage or salary provision. The following queries are examined in light of the aforementioned problems. 1. How much did female workers in textile mills feel about the quality of their lives at work? 2. To what extent did the unfavorable working conditions in the mill environment affect the female employees?
  • 7. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY AREA OF THE STUDY : The data for the research will be collected from the women workers in textile industry. SAMPLING SIZE : 100 PERIOD OF STUDY : December 2023 to March 2024 SOURCE OF DATA : PRIMARY DATA : The study is mainly based upon the primary data – Primary data is collected through the Questionaries in the Tirupur city. SECONDARY DATA : It has been collected from the Magazines, Journals, Websites, Report, Research Studies etc.
  • 8. RESEARCH DESIGN This study is empirical in nature and based on survey method. The direct data for this study has been collected from the human resource department of the company. The vital part of the study, the primary data was collected from 100 women employees. SAMPLING TECHNIQUE A probabilistic sampling has been used in this study. In Tirupur more than 350 large, median and small Textile firms are located. There is huge difference between the textile firms regarding their operation and organization environment. In order to speed up the research work and collect the response from various personal and demographic backgrounds of employees in a stipulated time, the researcher will be adapted a Convenient sample for selection of sample respondent for the study.

LIMITATIONS • It was impossible to completely prevent studies that involved attitudes, inaccurate or incomplete data, or blanks for certain questions; nevertheless, the researcher made every effort to minimize these errors. • Limited discussion with women employees of the textile mills was done due to paucity of time. • The present study focuses only on Tirupur district as said above. • The implications of the study are subject to the limitations of sample size, psychological and emotional characteristics of surveyed population that is employees of other mills at located various places in Tamil Nadu may vary.
