Post 3-7
Summary… 
• From post 3-8, we researched documentaries 
and theorists, types of documentaries, 
narrative structure, documentary conventions 
and modes of documentary. 
• Researching these will help us choose what 
style and type of documentary we would like 
to do and give us ideas for what conventions 
we would like to include – this will be helpful 
for us when we start filming.
Strengths 
• We split each of these tasks up equally so we had 
an equal amount to do and so that we could get it 
done on time for when we move on to our next 
stage of planning. 
• This gave us the opportunity to start using 
different software to create an exciting and fun 
blog. We used prezi and slideshare, gaining more 
knowledge on how these work. 
• We handled our time limit effectively and posted 
them on our blog so that we were ready to 
continue into the next stage.
Weaknesses/areas to 
improve… 
• We could have used 1 more type of software 
so that there was more of a range, however 
each prezi was on a different template and 
each powerpoint on slideshare had a different 
theme, so they still looked appealing.
Target for next stage… 
• Now that we have completed our research 
into the styles of documentaries, we need to 
start thinking about an idea for our 
documentary to be based around. 
• We need to find inspiration for various 
different ideas so that we can discuss 
strengths and weaknesses of each and finally 
choose one.
