After reviewing the technology needs of the district, a particular campus,
administration, teachers and students, (O’Banion) it is clear that Goose Creek
Consolidated Independent District is working to integrate teaching, learning, and
technology. Through evaluation of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology
(Texas Education Agency) and the Texas STaR Chart (TEA Star Chart), as well as
the district and campus improvement plans; it seems that in order to reach the goal of
‘providing technology for literacy, integration and transformative learning to prepare
students to successfully live, learn and work in the Digital Age’ (Goose Creek CISD
Technology Plan for E-Rate Year 12); proper professional development opportunities
must be in place.
