Producer – they oversee each project from conception to completion and may also be
involved in the marketing and distribution processes. The producer helps with several things
with planning projects mainly resolved around the cost side of things in terms of producing
television related content the producer might earn around about a half of whatever the
director would make.
Director – the director tends to put everything together which the clients hand there way.
They make the clients idea’s possible, they are the creative minds behind the production of
a film or TV piece of content.
Script editors - Check scripts are up to standard, Give their feedback on scripts and discuss
any issues with the production team, Manage the relationship between the production
team and the writers, Come up with amazing ideas for the story/script, consistent with the
style of the show they are working on.
Script writers/ screenwriters - The role of a script writer, also known as a screenwriter, is to
prepare stories and instructions for films, television, plays and commercials. The script
writer's role is essential, as without a script writer there is no production.
Production manager - oversee the production process, drawing up a production schedule,
ensure that the production is cost effective, decide what resources are required, draft a
timescale for the job.
Executive producer - The role of the Executive Producer is to oversee the work of the
producer on behalf of the studio, the financiers or the distributors.
Location manager - The location manager is a member of the film crew responsible for the
finding and securing locations to be used in specific production work, they might send
multiple location managers at once if it was a film or good television show this is because it
costs far too much to send at multiple location managers at a time.
Cameraman/Camerawomen - A camera operator, sometimes informally called a cameraman
or a camerawoman, is a professional operator of a film or video camera. They are there to
capture the best footage for the clients.
Art director - An art director is someone who is responsible for the visual style and images in
magazines, newspapers, product packaging, and movie and television productions.
First assistant director - The role of a First assistant director on a film includes tracking daily
progress against the filming production schedule, arranging logistics, preparing daily call
sheets, checking cast and crew, and maintaining order on the set. They also have to take
care of the health and safety of the crew. The first assistant director is usually the person
which says “action” before each take, they command the crew with the director’s orders.
