While the disciples waited in Jerusalem as Jesus had instructed, they prayed, talked about Jesus, and worshipped together. One day, they heard a strong rushing wind fill the house and saw what looked like flames of fire touch each person as the Holy Spirit filled them. They then began speaking in other languages and proclaiming the gospel to visitors in Jerusalem who heard the noise, attracting a large crowd. Peter spoke to the crowd, telling them about Jesus, and about 3,000 people were baptized that day.
