The Fields of Hope project by World Vision Mexico seeks to prevent and reduce child labor in the sugarcane and coffee sectors in the states of Veracruz and Oaxaca. It aims to benefit 1,520 children at risk of or engaged in child labor across 24 communities and 4 municipalities. The project takes an integral approach through advocacy, collaboration with the private sector, and sensitizing communities and workers, while also promoting access to education.

5. • Coordinate with national and local leaders of the sugarcane
sector.
• Selection and engagement of three sugar mills that are
participating in the project.
• Identification of risks profile in the sugarcane sector using Safe
Work Methodology
• Development of action plan to address occupational and health
risks in the sugarcane production and harvest.
• Development and implementation of training plan and guideline.
• Training of sugarcane workers in Quality of Surgarcane Harvest,
Agroquemical Management and Water, Shade and Rest.
• Linkages with local government authorities.
