The solar capacity in India crossed 2 GW in Q3 2013 driven by additions under Phase 1 of the National Solar Mission. Several states also added large scale solar plants to meet solar renewable purchase obligations.
2013 saw many significant solar policy announcements and events in India including solar policies in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. While the turnout of these policies was not as expected, solar capacity was still successfully allocated under the policies of Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

In October 2009, ECO-UNESCO held the seminar Exploring Good Practice in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The seminar allowed participants to engage with organisations and initiatives which are leading in the field of Education for Sustainable Development in Ireland and internationally.
The keynote speaker Andy Griggs (Environmental Education Forum) gave a presentation on Good Practice in Education for Sustainable Development. ECO-UNESCO's National Director, Elaine Nevin, opened the day with a presentation on Education for Sustainable Development.
Story of our Natural Capital workshop session
on 7th November 2014 Sarah Chimbwandira, director at Surrey Wildlife Trust and I ran a PNI (Participatory Narrative Inquiry) -based workshop at the Valuing our Life Support Systems Summit #VOLSS at the British Library in London.
The summit, hosted by the Natural Capital Initiative (NCI), brought together 250 scientists, policy makers and business representatives to debate how we can better preserve the elements of nature on which human society and the economy depend.
