- 1. Re-finance scheme unit: This unit work to promote export. When commercial bank provides finance for export against letter of credit (LC) then SBP re-finances the commercial banks. There are some schemes lunched by SBP-BSC to facilitate exporter: • Export finance scheme • Long term financial facilities • Financial scheme for modernization of SME,s • Financing scheme for renewal energy products Or Scheme for financing power plant using renewal energy.
- 2. Export finance scheme: This scheme introduced in 1973 to promote value added products export. Divided into two parts:

Pre-shipment export financing scheme: Issuance of LC from commercial bank Exporter application to commercial bank for financing against LC Commercial bank watch out all its documents and need then provide finance against LC and about requirements After financing of commercial banks SBP re-finance the authorized main branches Mark up charged to exporter is 4.5% (3.5% is for SBP and 1% is for commercial bank.) Recovery of mark up on quarterly bases
- 4. •Duration: •Duration for pre-shipment financing is 217 days •180 days for maturities •30 days for submission of annexure D to commercial bank by exporter •7 days for submission of annexure D to SBP-BSC by commercial bank •It issue against e-form
- 5. Pre-shipment is in two categories: •Direct export finance •In-direct export finance • Direct export finance: Supply of funds directly to exporter whom dealing with importer party. Duration for direct financing is 180 days and 30 days for documentations. •In-direct export finance: Supply of funds to supplier of direct exporter. Duration for indirect financing is 120 days and 15 days for documentations. Agreement between direct and in-direct exporter for financing is in form of annexure E.
- 6. Post-shipment export financing: •It is work based financing. In some extent same as pre-shipment e.g documentation •Duration is 180 days It is performance based financing and just for alread existing not for fresh exporter. Its procedure is: •Double E required (all export record ) •Multiple banks involve in it •Facility of roll-over available after 70% of shipment •Its limit is 180 days •Annexure D is submit with application form for financing •No concept of in-direct exporter financing
