About me/Introduction
Eportfolio is one of the most successful assignments that I learned in PMU. So, most of
the students in PMU had a good experience with this assignment, because it is very
helpful and effective for the students to share their experience in the six competences.
Also, most of the students can learn from each other by looking to each student’s
experience. These six competences are very helpful for the students, because they will
know the importance of the communication and teamwork to do our work in the life.
Also, they will know the relationship between being a leadership and professional.
This is Ahmed Alramadan, I am a sophomore student at prince Mohammed Bin Fahd in
Saudi Arabia. I am studying a mechanical engineering in the college of engineering. I
chose this major because I want to be one of the most successful engineers in the Saudi
Arabia. Moreover, most of the companies in the Saudi Arabia need a lot of engineers’
specially mechanical engineers. Also, I interest in this major because I have a huge
information about the Mechanical engineering and I interest to work with engines, design
and manufacturing.
Professional Goals

mechanical engineering after two years.
My long term goal is to keep going in studying and having a master in management, then

Competencies
The six core competences are one of the most important goals that PMU needs from all
the students to know these competences and apply it in their life. You cannot pass the

Go to school, get your degree, get a job. Does this traditional path from education to employment make sense today for the hundreds of millions of learners around the world?
The main problem was the lack of proper infrastructure, poor quality labs, no focus on practical knowledge, no idea of what market demands and poor non-beneficial curriculum.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. I did my engineering in mechanical branch.
At present I am placed in a reputed company in R&D department.
I opted for science subjects at higher secondary school level which
helped me to get into mechanical engineering.
I did my graduation from a reputed college from where I got my job
opportunity.
The curriculum of my course instilled a sense of confidence and
independency in me.
In school I was just a student but college life made me an individual
and my job made me independent.
In college I got the opportunity to meet different kinds of people
who have avid areas of interest which helped me to instill in me vast
amount of knowledge of different areas.
In college I learned how to communicate and interact with people
from different backgrounds.
School to college and then to work transition instilled in a sense of
responsibility in me that completely changed my life. Now I have a
different and focussed perception towards my goal unlike to that it
was in school.
4. In school my aim was just to become an engineer no matter what
branch I get in college. But after going through entrance exams and
according to marks I secured in these exams,I got the mechanical
branch with specialisation in automotives which made my future
focus oriented in a definite direction.
Since my college was a reputed one ,so most of the companies step
over there for recruiting students in their reputed firms.Even I
made my self upto that level with all the technical knowledge
related to my trade so that those companies prefer me for working
in their firms.
Initially I could not get into any firm as I got failed in some
interviews. But with the help of peers and teacher’s co-
operation, finally I got into a reputed company and that too with a
good salary package and excellent working conditions
I used to participate in all the co-curricular activities of my coolege
as well as school so that it would help me built up a strong profile
or I should say an expressive resume of mine.
It was the level of education of my college that made me a selfless
human being or in words “A Mechanical Engineer”.
5. Happy and satisfied with the job.
The firm is located near to his/her residence. So it gave him/her an
opportunity to enjoy living at home instead of working at some far
away place away from family
Seems focussed regarding his/her future prospects.
Is a keen learner and wanted to acquire knowledge of each and
every trade.
Has a sole interest in automobile designing.
Wanted to excel in this automobile designing area particularly
designing of cars.
Is happy with the working conditions of the firm where he/she is
working as he/she got the department of his/her own interest i.e.
Research &Development.
Wanted to pursue higher studies from germany that would
enhance his/her capability as a mechanical engineer.
Is a good looking person with properly dressed in formals and
communicating in a mannerly way.
Moreover the person was very much specific with his/her answers
with no ambiguity in answers.
6. The person has a specific knowledge related to mechanical
engineering branch which I think is not just enough to excel in
future.
The person should learn to work and adjust in any working
environment.
Apart from the job,the person should try to indulge himself in some
other knowledgeable work also like he/she can do some productive
online courses that would enhance his ability in a certain way.
The college should organise some personality development classes
that would help students to express themselves in front of
corporates.
The college should also organise some group discussions and
personal interview sessions for students to make them experience
some real life interviews experience.
The recruiting companies should not select candidates on the basis
of their academics rather they should survey the knowledge a
student possess.
School should also play an equivalent role in the life of students by
providing a career counselling to them at school level in order to
built their focus in a definite direction
7. Students should keep them updated about each and every field
with the help of internet and newspapers
Students should not keep themselves limited to a particular
field, infact one should keep his/her eyes open for every
opportunity that comes his/her way.
Also students should keep themselves acquainted with all the
latest happenings and updation in technology happening in and
around the world.
Students should try to built up a learning squad with the help of
social networking sites so that the members of that learning squad
will be able to share and spread their ideas and knowledge to each
other.
Doing job to earn money should never be kept as the highest
priority. One should express his/her interest in whatever area
he/she is working and try to learn and gather maximum
knowledge out of that work.
Moreover one should have a very strong will power and a self
confidence that nothing is impossible in this world. If I can then I’ll
definitely try to do and overcome the challenge.
