  We develop the “teen

How Does Your Media Product
Represent Particular Social Groups?
• Our film mainly represents the “nerd” or “geek”
social group. It could be argued that our main
character falls into these categories, seeing as
nobody likes her and she doesn’t fit in with
anybody. We also challenge the “preppy group”
stereotype and show them to be
ignorant, thinking they’re better than other
people. This is shown in the scene where the
protagonist tries to fit in but gets rejected.
What Kind of Media Institution Might
 Distribute Your Media Product and
               Why?
• I think an independent distribution company
would be the best choice for our film in terms
of distribution. It would be marketed virally
  through social networking sites, mainly
because teens are our target audience, and
teens make up a large number of active social
network users. It would also be marketed
  through schools.
• An independent company such as Working
Title 2 would be the best distributor for our
film. Being distributed by an independent
distributor such as them would help us to
reach our niche target audience and get our
film well-known outside of the UK as well.
