Achieving
universal
primary
education
Made by: Moses Mwangi
z
Why does this
resonate with
you?
Education is key to success and as
an African there are stereotypes
about us not being able to shape the
destiny of our continent.
The less fortunate children deserves
an education just like any other child.
I have observed poverty as a result
of lack of education.
z
In the developing
regions, children in the
poorest households are
four times as likely to be
out of school as those in
the richest households.
In countries affected by
conflict, the proportion
of out-of-school children
increased from 30 per
cent in 1999 to 36 per
cent in 2012.
z
How can your
interest be
applied
locally?
The central governments, local
governments and unions should focus
on putting more resources in schools.
Campaign should be carried for the
poor families to take their children to
school.
There should be laws for compulsory
primary school education.
z
Where can you make the greatest
contribution?
 One thing that I can do is to lobby the state to provide more
money in school, campaign and advocate for the poor children
through social media.
z
Is there a feature
of social media
that can be
uniquely applied
to this goal?
 Yes there features such as hashtags
advocating for equal education such as:
 #Education matters
 #primaryeducation
