2. Introduction
“Get Ready to Learn with Patterns!!!
This unit will teach students about patterns that are found in
visual arts, dance, drama, and music.The different lessons
teach how to create musical instruments using patterns and
how to make art using patterns, while focusing on specific art
components such as criticism, production, history, and
aesthetics.
3. Creating Drums with Patterns
Students will create original patterns
using lines, colors, and shapes.They will
also be able to perform patterns on the
drums they will construct.

4. Making Art Using Patterns
▪ We will view a work of art with patterns and shapes.
▪ We will create our own drawing using patterns and shapes.
5. Seeing Patterns in Art
Students will be given pictures of
Art from the past and they will
have to find the pattern.Then
students can make their own
pattern on a piece of construction
paper.

6. Recognizing and Creating Patterns with
Music
Students will listen to song and
identify the pattern that the
composer used. Using this song
as an example they will create
their own music using repeating
patterns.
