2. Introduction
Our group has been set to create a
sequence for Arts, Library and School
Iconography. To do this we have created
a production schedule and planned
locations to help represent the school in a
positive way. This means considering how
the camera will be placed, who will be
included and where.
Overall we want the audience to interpret
the school as a safe community, well
educated and a unique place. This
means representing the school through
multiple sequences which will make the
school stand out.
3. Initial Ideas
The creative arts clip will include a tracking shot of a student being
followed around the different rooms. Almost shown as a ‘treasure
hunt’ as the student will engage with a object which represents
the subject where the student is guiding the audience next. For
example after filming the clips which show the library, the guide
will find an object such as a microphone and will want to return
the object to the correct department. The audience will then
follow the student towards the music department. This creative
insight creates foreshadowing and gives the audience further
knowledge on where the guide will take them next. The lighting will
be natural so the video will not be too staged or seem
choreographed. Throughout the video will be a track with some
pans to create a variety of different shots. The use of an over the
shoulder shot will make the audience feel as if they are actually
following the student themselves.

5. Casting
The chosen pupils from a variety of years will be outgoing
and at a good standard performance level to be able to
represent their year and show a positive outcome towards
the audience. To ensure the choice is appropriate, we will
be asking a couple of teachers and students who would
be best for the ‘job’. Each student will be dressed
appropriately such as uniform and smart clothing. This is to
represent the school while showing the audience what the
school has to offer. The gender and ethnicity will be a
variety to show how multicultural the school is and to
display the idea that the school is a community where
everyone is different and no one is neglected for who they
are.

7. Performances
The art sequence will include
active performances, for example
solo dances from dance or even
a scene from a play in drama. This
is to show the audience what
potential the school can offer and
how some classes run. However
some of the sequence may also
be students working, to show the
independence and more theory
side to the particular subject. This
will be filmed through an over the
shoulder shot as if the audience
was peeking over.
8. Music
Song Choices
School Iconography & Library - Martin Solveig PLACES
Drama, Dance & Music - Solo Dance Martin Jensen
Fine Art, Textiles, Photography & Media Studies - Just
Can’t Get Enough Black Eyed Peas
We have chosen the first two songs as they are
popular within the UK. The audience will interact and
enjoy the sequence as they know the song and it is
upbeat which will make the overall experience seem
happy and joyful. The third song is a throwback,
however is still popular, this will also help catch the
audience’s attention even more as they may not
have heard the song in a while..
