clogging,wash out of microbes
MAR is a Hybrid reactor utilising the
specially cultured microbes resulting in
active microbial bio mass forming very
dense granules which are highly settable.

As a result Very high Concentration of
active biomass could be achieved per unit
working volume of reactor resulting in
reduced space and lesser blower air
requirements (lesser electrical energy)
Hence this reactor is operable with high
loading rates and excellent BOD, COD
removal with lesser HRT(hydraulic
retention time)

MAR uses specially cultured microbes
1. High concentration of Bio mass achieved per unit
working volume of reactor – Results in 25% lesser
space requirements
2. High loading rates with lesser Holding Retention Time
(HRT) due to active microbiological process –Lesser
compressed air requirements per unit volume - Results
in 30% power savings
3. Fully a microbiological activity and does not involve any
mechanical separations such as membranes in MBR –
Results in lesser maintenance costs involved in
replacement of membranes
4. Due to active digestors very dense granules are
formed which is highly settlable – Results in very less
sludge formation and is easy to handle
