Nerds!Both dropped out of University.Woz got a job at HP and Jobs one at Atari.First product was Apple 1 – built in their garage.Built it first, then figured out that they should try to sell it. Sold very few.First fully integrated unit – reduced type of computer from “Mainframe” to “Personal”

The design of the Swoosh cost Phil Knight $35.Began as a small distributing outfit located in the trunk of Phil Knight’s car.The company started from two sources:Bill Bowerman’s quest for lighter, more durable racing shoes for his Oregon Ducks runners and for Knight to make a living without giving up his love for athletics.It began in 1963 (9 years before official launch) where Phil Knight flew to Japan to “represent” a U.S. distributor (Blue Ribbon Sports) for the Japanese shoe maker.Before Nike was officially born, the company had 1 employee (salesman) and grossed $1 million.Nike didn’t start the fitness wave, but was right there when it started to boom.
