CSS Solved A Big Problem
 HTML was NEVER intended to contain tags for formatting a web page!
 HTML was created to describe the content of a web page, like:
 <h1>This is a heading</h1>
 <p>This is a paragraph.</p>
 When tags like <font>, and color attributes were added to the HTML 3.2 specification, it
started a nightmare for web developers. Development of large websites, where fonts and
color information were added to every single page, became a long and expensive
process.
 To solve this problem, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) created CSS.

Difference Between HTML & CSS
HTML
 (HTML) is the building-
blocks of web pages.
 HTML allows you to put

together into a cohesive
webpage.
CSS
 CSS is used for formatting
structured content.
 Font size, font color, font
type, styling around images,
page layout, mouse-over
effects and more are all
determined by CSS.

How Do Work With CSS
It processes the document in two stages:
1.The browser converts HTML and CSS into the DOM
(Document Object Model). The DOM represents the
document in the computer's memory. It combines the
document's content with its style
2.The browser displays the contents of the DOM.
How Do You Start CSS • Open Notepad.
• Copy the code in the
reference to the right.
• Paste the code onto
Notepad.
• Save the Notepad file.
Save it to
"SimpleCSS.css" by
clicking "File" and
select "Save." ...
• Name your CSS file. ...
• Click the "Save" button
