Concerning educational status, 54% of the participants have Bsc. professionally most of them (48%) were nurses. 60% of the participants have less than three year working experience in ICU.86% of them highlighted that hands must be washed with soap and water or even rubbed with alcohol before contacting with patients. Additionally, the result reveals that employees who had master degree or above displayed higher mean knowledge scores as compared to the other two groups (diploma or less & bachelor) (0.7147 & 4.6656) respectively. High significant statistical differences were found between the three academic groups in relation to sharp devices, personal protective equipment (gloves, gowns &masks), care of intravenous infusion therapy, central line care and urinary catheter care (F=4.594, F=7.982, F=5.539, F=4.471, F=15.310, F=4.345) respectively at p < 0.05. Recommendation & conclusion: Health workers in ICU (King Khalid hospital) showed adequate knowledge and faire attitude regarding universal precautions

crown. They are not serious in giving proper post endodontic restoration which results in fracture of tooth or

Thus, it was the purpose of this study to analyze the opinion of practicing dentist and after 24 months of clinical
observation to present a logical approach to this subject as the final success of endodontic treatment is depend
on the proper and timely coronal restoration.
This study was conducted to understand the status of scabies infection and its
epidemic characteristics in the Korean hospitals. 43 hospitals (86.0%) received the
reports of scabies infection with suspicious or definite diagnosis to infection control
department, implicating continuous increases 14.6% (7/48), 20.8% (10/48), 35.7%
(17/48), 44.1% (21/48), and 56.7% (27/48) in 2010 to 2013 and 35.7% (17/48) in 2014
up to April.
92.0% of the hospitals had the rules and guideline of scabies infection control,
which seemed to be prepared by the recent certifications of medical institutions and
establishment of rules in infection control departments. However, less than half of the
hospitals 44.0% (22/50) prepared the screening system related to scabies during the
admission processes of the patients, 56.7% of the patients had the typical symptoms
related to scabies when they admitted with 47.0% of pruritus, requiring the system to
prevent from the scabies epidemic beforehand

Background: Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea are the most public health concern in developing countries. Screening for sexually transmitted infection such as Neisseria gonorrhea and Chlamydia trachomatis was suggested by CDC at first visit and also last trimester of pregnancy because early infection can asymptomatic and also may complicated by severe sequela. Objective: This paper has aimed at estimating the prevalence of infections by Chlamydia trachomatis and by Neisseria gonorrhea in pregnant women. This study was carried out to determine prevalence of C. trachomatis and N. gonorrhea among pregnant women in Tehran, Iran’ Methods: In this study, 196 urine specimens were collected from pregnant women referred to Rasuol-e- Akram hospital. Detection of organisms was done using duplex PCR method with specific primers for each organisms. Results: Overall, 6.1% and 4.1% of the specimens were positive for C. trachomatis and N. gonorrhea respectively using duplex PCR assay. Co-infection was found in 4.1% of the patients. Conclusion: In comparison to other studies, a moderate and high prevalence of chlamydial and gonococcal infections were seen in pregnant women. According to potentially dangerous complications of chlamydial and gonococcal infections, the results endorse that pregnant women should be screened routinely for detecting the Chlamydia and gonococcus infections.

Deep Behavioral Phenotyping in Systems Neuroscience for Functional Atlasing a...Ana Luísa Pinho
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) provides means to characterize brain activations in response to behavior. However, cognitive neuroscience has been limited to group-level effects referring to the performance of specific tasks. To obtain the functional profile of elementary cognitive mechanisms, the combination of brain responses to many tasks is required. Yet, to date, both structural atlases and parcellation-based activations do not fully account for cognitive function and still present several limitations. Further, they do not adapt overall to individual characteristics. In this talk, I will give an account of deep-behavioral phenotyping strategies, namely data-driven methods in large task-fMRI datasets, to optimize functional brain-data collection and improve inference of effects-of-interest related to mental processes. Key to this approach is the employment of fast multi-functional paradigms rich on features that can be well parametrized and, consequently, facilitate the creation of psycho-physiological constructs to be modelled with imaging data. Particular emphasis will be given to music stimuli when studying high-order cognitive mechanisms, due to their ecological nature and quality to enable complex behavior compounded by discrete entities. I will also discuss how deep-behavioral phenotyping and individualized models applied to neuroimaging data can better account for the subject-specific organization of domain-general cognitive systems in the human brain. Finally, the accumulation of functional brain signatures brings the possibility to clarify relationships among tasks and create a univocal link between brain systems and mental functions through: (1) the development of ontologies proposing an organization of cognitive processes; and (2) brain-network taxonomies describing functional specialization. To this end, tools to improve commensurability in cognitive science are necessary, such as public repositories, ontology-based platforms and automated meta-analysis tools. I will thus discuss some brain-atlasing resources currently under development, and their applicability in cognitive as well as clinical neuroscience.

Intravital microscopy (IVM) is a powerful tool utilized to study cellular behavior over time and space in vivo. Much of our understanding of cell biology has been accomplished using various in vitro and ex vivo methods; however, these studies do not necessarily reflect the natural dynamics of biological processes. Unlike traditional cell culture or fixed tissue imaging, IVM allows for the ultra-fast high-resolution imaging of cellular processes over time and space and were studied in its natural environment. Real-time visualization of biological processes in the context of an intact organism helps maintain physiological relevance and provide insights into the progression of disease, response to treatments or developmental processes.
In this webinar we give an overview of advanced applications of the IVM system in preclinical research. IVIM technology is a provider of all-in-one intravital microscopy systems and solutions optimized for in vivo imaging of live animal models at sub-micron resolution. The system’s unique features and user-friendly software enables researchers to probe fast dynamic biological processes such as immune cell tracking, cell-cell interaction as well as vascularization and tumor metastasis with exceptional detail. The return of a sample of near-surface atmosphere from Mars would facilitate answers to several first-order science questions surrounding the formation and evolution of the planet. One of the important aspects of terrestrial planet formation in general is the role that primary atmospheres played in influencing the chemistry and structure of the planets and their antecedents. Studies of the martian atmosphere can be used to investigate the role of a primary atmosphere in its history. Atmosphere samples would also inform our understanding of the near-surface chemistry of the planet, and ultimately the prospects for life. High-precision isotopic analyses of constituent gases are needed to address these questions, requiring that the analyses are made on returned samples rather than in situ.

Introduction:
RNA interference (RNAi) or Post-Transcriptional Gene Silencing (PTGS) is an important biological process for modulating eukaryotic gene expression.
It is highly conserved process of posttranscriptional gene silencing by which double stranded RNA (dsRNA) causes sequence-specific degradation of mRNA sequences.
dsRNA-induced gene silencing (RNAi) is reported in a wide range of eukaryotes ranging from worms, insects, mammals and plants.
This process mediates resistance to both endogenous parasitic and exogenous pathogenic nucleic acids, and regulates the expression of protein-coding genes.

Because lin-4 encoded no protein, she deduced that it must be these transcripts that are causing the silencing by RNA-RNA interactions.

First the double-stranded RNA teams up with a protein complex named Dicer, which cuts the long RNA into short pieces.

1. PREVALENCE AND SCOPE OF THE
PROBLEM IN PAKISTAN
• The issue of nosocomial infections in public sector hospitals of
Pakistan is largely ignored despite of its vital importance.

• Little literature is available on hospital acquired infections in
Pakistan and related issues such as frequent occurrence of
multi-resistant bacteria, and the economic loss and

• Objective: To assess the frequency of nosocomial infection in
patients admitted to intensive care unit (ICU),conducted at
Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad Sindh Pakistan in 2008.
• During the study period of 11 months, 97 out of 333 patients
acquired nosocomial infection.
•
• Respiratory tract infection (30.1%)
• Urinary tract infection (39.1%)
• blood stream infection (23.7%)
•
Conclusion: Patients admitted in intensive care unit are at more risk
of acquiring nosocomial infection.
3. CASE STUDY#2
• Objective: To assess prevalence of nosocomial infetions in the
Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi.
•
• Total of 63 out of 233 had number of Nosocomial Infections at
prevalence rate 27.03%.
• The most common Nosocomial infection was Respiratory tract
infections 39.7%
• urinary tract infections 22.2%
• Blood stream infections 12.7%
• ventilator associated pneumonia 12.7%
• surgical site infections 12.7%.
•
Conclusion: Alarming rates of nosocomial infection among patients in
ICUs. ICU acquired infections are major health problem globally, in
developing countries like Pakistan.
4. CASE STUDY#3
• Objective: To find out the extent of MRSA in hospitalized patients
in Military Hospital Rawalpindi.
•
• Clinical isolates of MRSA, isolated from different clinical samples of
pus, pus swab, tissue, body fluids, blood, sputum, urine,
catheter tips were included in the study.
•
• MRSA were most frequently isolated from pus, pus swab, blood
and urine. (42.01%)
• Conclusion: The high frequency of MRSA in the study reflects a
compromise in the state of aseptic techniques such as hand
washing, use of gown and masks, isolation of MRSA patients,
sterilization and disinfection.
