The play details Macbeth's rise and fall, from war hero to tyrannical ruler as his paranoia and guilt over his evil deeds lead to increasing madness and isolation. Major characters include Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, King Duncan, and Banquo, as well as the three witches whose prophecies help trigger the tragic events of the play.

2. The play is a tragedy that was written around 1606
by William Shakespeare. It is also known as “the
Scottish play” because the play was cursed. It is
believed that Shakespeare used actual witch spells
that made them angry and curse the play. Many
accidents happened when they play was being
performed. The play contains dramatic irony.

4. • In Act I begins with the three witches deciding where
and where to meet, and they agree that they will
• Later in the play Lady Macbeth and Macbeth plan out
how to kill the King in their castle at night.

5. Review of Act
I•Introduced to the three witches who prophesize Macbeth's
future.
•The three witches meet Macbeth and tell him that he will be
King, and he does not believe them . They tell him that he
will be the Thane of Cawdor and the Thane of Glamis, and
the does not believe it until Ross enters the scene and tells
Macbeth that he is the new Thane of Cawdor.

6. Review of Act
II• Macbeth kills Duncan while he is sleeping.
• Macbeth says Lady Macbeth that he has killed the King.
• The King’s sons ran away from the castle (Malcolm and
Donalbain )
• Macbeth covers the guards with blood while the were
asleep.
• They all see the body of the dead King and Lady Macbeth
pretends to faint from hearing that.
• When lords see the guards covered in blood they accused
them for killing the King.
• The council determined that Macbeth would be the King
after the death of Duncan.

7. Review of Act
III•Banquo is killed by three murder’s because he knows to much
information about Macbeth.
•Macbeth as King is going crazy by seeing the ghost of Banquo.
•Macbeth fears that Banquo will become father of all line Kings like in
the Prophecy.
•Macbeth plans out a good plan on how to murder Banquo and his two
sons
• The three murder’s kill Banquo but fail to kill both of his sons who
run away from the castle.
•Macbeth regrets of killing Banquo, later on he sees the ghosts of
Banquo. Macbeth is the only one who saw the ghost.
•Lady Macbeth asks everyone to leave because the King is sick but
really just going crazy.
•Macduff is gone to England to join the Malcolm .

8. Macbeth is influenced by Lady Macbeth because she
tells him how to kill Duncan.
Macbeth influenced the three murders by telling
them to kill Banquo late at night.
